Day in the Life

Saying I live a hard life would be lie. I have almost as many rights as men, I live in a temple, and I am considered sacred to the Roman citizens. I usually spend my day washing and decking the temple in laurel leaves, making salt-cakes for festivals, and, of course, tending the fire of Vesta. If I am lucky, I am the one out of the six to sprinkle holy water on it that day! If we do ever leave the temple, which is often, we are pulled around Rome in amazing chariots which are drawn by white horses. These chariots are often followed by female slaves and our very own body guards. I absolutely adore going to the Colosseum- the Vestals and I get fantastic seats, right across from the emperor himself!
